🏃♀️🚴♀️ Jill Biden: From Spin Classes to the White House Driveway – Fitness is My Superpower 🚴♀️🏃♀️
TL;DR: Jill Biden, First Lady and fitness enthusiast, gets her mojo from early morning workouts, spinning, jogging, and more. She shares her journey from childhood roller skater to the spinning partner of world leaders’ wives. Is she the most fit First Lady ever? 🤔💪
Ding, ding! 5:45 a.m. alarm sounds and the First Lady, Jill Biden, is already lacing up her sneakers. Why? Because that’s how she finds her “inner strength.” 🌅
When most of the White House is still snuggled in bed, the 72-year-old is up and about, embracing her exercise regimen with full vigor. Ever wonder what keeps the First Lady going amid the intense pressures of Washington? Her secret weapon: a good old workout. 🧘♀️
“I need to be with myself and find inner strength so I can be strong for everyone else,” Biden reveals. Sound relatable? We’ve all had those days when a good sweat sesh can feel like therapy. But did you ever think it’d be the same for someone living in the White House?
While she’s been a runner since forever (she even aced the Marine Corps Marathon in 1998), these days you’ll find her jogging the White House driveway. Why not the D.C streets, you ask? Well, Bill Clinton did it once and ended up getting a jogging track built! 🤷♀️
You might have also spotted her leaving those high-intensity SoulCycle studios, sometimes even with Akshata Murty, the wife of the British Prime Minister. Spinning diplomacy, anyone? 🚴♀️✌️
Biden’s fitness love story started long before her First Lady days. From roller skating in her youth, ice skating in college, to swimming during her pregnancy, she’s always been on the move. In fact, a good ol’ run was her way of cooling off during intense mother-daughter moments. “Whenever she and I would get into an argument, I’d put on those shoes to go running and calm myself down,” she penned in her memoir. That’s one way to handle teenage angst! 😂👟
Apart from breaking a sweat, she’s all about a balanced diet. Fish, veggies, and packed lunches for her teaching days – the First Lady is as grounded as they come. 🥦🐟
She even wakes up early to feed her feline and canine companions, Willow and Commander, and, of course, takes the German shepherd out for a walk.
As the upcoming September issue of Women’s Health hits the newsstands on Aug. 15, it will feature a U.S. First Lady on its cover for the very first time. 🌟
