🚀 Glover Bros in Hyperspace! Donald Glover Teams Up with Sibling for Disney+’s Lando 🌌

When you’re in the galaxy far, far away, surprises are as common as droids in a Tatooine market. 🤖🌵 Donald Glover, our beloved young Lando from Solo: A Star Wars Story, is teaming up with his brother Stephen to script the Lando series. Didn’t see that coming? Neither did we!
First announced back in the frosty days of December 2020, the Lando project initially had Justin Simien, the creative mind behind Dear White People and the spooky Disney horror Haunted Mansion, tethered to it. However, the universe decided to give us a plot twist 🌀, and now the Glover brothers, who gave us all the feels with Atlanta, are riding solo… pun intended. 🚀 Word is, they signed on just before the great writer’s strike.
Remember Donald as the suave and slick Lando, living up to Billy Dee Williams’ original? Of course you do! When chatting with GQ, Glover spilled some tea ☕, saying, “I would love to play Lando again…Lando is definitely somebody I like to hang out with.” I mean, who wouldn’t want to chill with the Baron Administrator of Cloud City? ☁️🏰
Though former writer Simien poured his heart into the project, it seems the stars (or maybe just the Star Wars stars? 🌠) weren’t aligned for him this time. In his words: “I certainly poured my heart… And, you know, I was told we had to put a pause on it because of scheduling…So I don’t know, I have no idea what’s going on with it.” Well, Mr. Simien, neither did we, until now!
Eager to know when Lando will grace our screens? We are too, but the galaxy is keeping that info locked up tighter than the Death Star plans. 🌑 But hang in there, fam, ’cause Ahsoka is dropping on Disney+ on August 23, 2023. Hyped yet? 🚀
