The secrecy of these Kville petroglyphs is quite the moss-stery. The hillside, once an ancient canvas for creative expression, was cloaked under a dense layer of moss, turning these fantastic creations invisible. But who’d expect that under this ordinary-looking hillside with a steep incline, a masterful artist of antiquity left his mark?
While the archaeologists from the Foundation for Documentation of Bohuslän Rock Carvings were surveying the area, their eyes caught some unusual white marks peeking through the mossy cover. And voila! As they scraped away the moss, a majestic long ship etched into the rock surface was revealed.🧹🚢
And it didn’t stop there! As they continued their moss-removal mission, they uncovered a series of images lined up as if depicting a narrative tale straight out of an ancient comic strip.
