Salley also suggested that if McMaster isn’t willing to apologize and retract his statement, an investigation should be opened into this “threat and incitement of political violence.” Wait, what? Are we seriously calling in Sherlock Holmes over a bad joke? 🕵️♂️💼🔍
Chris Salley, who identifies as a Black, Gay man, expressed his personal experiences with feeling threatened, stating, “I’ve had to be on guard for people trying to ‘hunt me down’ most of my life.” He fears McMaster’s comments could embolden violent extremists and dampen political discourse. But is this a valid concern, or is the left simply stirring up a tempest in a teapot? 🌪️☕🤨
Brandon Charochak, a spokesman for McMaster, brushed off the furor. Apparently, the governor has made similar remarks at other GOP conventions and they were taken as jest by “everyday South Carolinians.” He added, “If South Carolina Democrat partisans can no longer bear light-hearted jokes made at their expense, then maybe they should focus their energy on winning and not whining.” 💁♂️😅🏆
