It all kicked off in Haryana’s Nuh district during a religious procession led by a Hindu nationalist group. Before you could say, “Pass the popcorn,” Hindus and Muslims clashed, causing the deaths of four individuals, including two police officers. 😔👮♂️ That’s right, even the police weren’t spared. What’s going on, folks?
And if you thought that was enough, more than 20 police officers were injured and cars became surprise bonfires. 🚗🔥 But wait, there’s more. Just when you thought things couldn’t escalate, tensions did a 180 and found their way to Gurugram, a mere 19 miles from New Delhi. Here, a mosque got torched, and a Muslim cleric was killed. The local authorities, not waiting for a sequel, swooped in and made some arrests.
One local resident, Mahendra (who understandably didn’t want to share his last name), remarked, “A large mob destroyed property, cars and hand carts. I stayed indoors to protect my family.” 🏠🙏 How many of us can relate to Mahendra’s fear of stepping outside his own home?
Akram Qureshi, another local, painted a picture of ghost towns as families left their neighborhoods in the wake of the chaos. 🌆🚫
